Laura founded Special Education Services in 1983 to fill the gap in services that she observed for children with special needs in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

As a former preschool teacher and the coordinator of disability services for a D.C.-based Head Start agency, she learned first hand what the community needed and how children with special needs were not being effectively served. Since 1983, her community has grown substantially, and Laura regularly works as a special education consultant with children, families, educators, and specialists across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
